Typology
For the typology assignment, I thought that it would be interesting to focus on cats from the Humane Society. As my family fosters kittens from there, we see a lot of them and the Humane Society has a lot of cats in their shelter. So, I just wanted to document some of the friends that are currently there both because of my love of cats and for the challenge of photographing animals that like to move a lot. Based on some advice that I received, I decided that the best aim to take for this was to divide my film rolls up based on rooms since the Humane Society has three rooms of cats: the kitten room, the cat room, and iso. So, my first roll is the kitten room and some of the supplies that they use in there, the second is all cats from the cat room, and my final roll is a combination of cats from the cat room and cats from the iso room and the lobby. When looking at my work and process in relation to artists such as Cindy Sherman, there are many similarities and differences. Cindy Sherman
